This morning we played several rounds of Hi Ho Cherry Oh, he of course won again, and then we read his new books again. Afterward we went downstairs for cereal bars and some cartoon watching. We had to kinda get going this morning because we were going to take off at 8 and head down to Soldier Field. Scott and his running buddy Olivia, were running the Soldier Field 10 miler this morning, and we were scheduled to meet him at the finish. (I was going to run with him renegade, but they were serious hard hitters about not letting anyone go rogue.) We ended up getting there just in time to see him run under the tunnel into Soldier Field and then meet up with the two of them after the race.
Henry waiting patiently to see his dad run under the tunnel. We were all a little worried we might have missed him due to the gong show that was parking at the stadium, but luckily we saw him run by. The little dude was pretty pumped to see Scott run by.
Scott and Olivia about to enter into the tunnel at Soldier Field.
Hanging out inside of the stadium waiting for Scott and Olivia. It was pretty cool you could just sit where ever you wanted. The finish line was right at the center of the 50 yard line. Scott & Olivia post race. Looking great and feeling pretty good too!
The Kalmus Family. Someone was pretty pumped that his dad did so well and had such a cool medal.
And so with a fab finish at the race we headed back home so that I could pack up and get off to the airport. Little man didn't seem too keen with the idea of me leaving and even told me that "if you miss your plane that means you can spend another whole day with me." Sorry friend despite United's best efforts at hosing me on the way home I still had to go and get back to my family up on the mountain. It was a blast hanging with you little dude and I look forward to many more adventures together.
