Moutain Life Update

Dear Webland!

Sorry that the blog has pretty much centered non-stop around the kitchen.  (It is pretty much all we do these days.) However, I do have some pics from around the mountain and random things that we have been up to aside from the great kitchen remodel.  Most of these pics are from the past month or so.

Pictures from this mornings sunrise on Mt. Aire.  It was absolutely gorgeous this morning! (I'm so glad Norman drug himself out of bed to take these pics!)

One of my favorite pics from this spring. (And reaffirms for me that Norman is just as dorky as I am...and I love him for it!) Unfortunately due to the epic home remodel we had to skip the 12 Hours of Mesa bike ride this year. However Marc did get a little ride in on that weekend, just not his normal 12 hours (or 100 miles).

As if we didn't have enough going on here on Mt. Aire, we decided on Memorial Day to embark on a new project with our neighbors.  Creating/building the Mt. Aire Canyon mountain bike/trail running loop.  We spent all day working on the trail with our neighbor Kim, clearing debris, cutting back trees and of course putting in a few "features." Marc and Kim took the maiden voyage later that evening.  It still needs a bit of work, but at least it is a solid start!

Last but not least, we have had quite a few visitors this year in the "back yard."  Marc did quite a bit of work clearing out the dead fall and debris from our "back yard."  This has made accessibility much easier for our wilderness friends and therefore they have frequented the house quite a bit this spring.
